55DSL Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary with a Feature Length Documentary

Since its inception in 1994, Diesel‘s experimental spin-off label 55DSL has always embodied a brand philosophy of fueling creativity. The brand has made notable contributions to the international sports scene by becoming a successful platform for young talent as well as amassing numerous collaborations with various creatives to produce a wide scope of T-shirts, jackets, films and prints. To honor its 20-year anniversary, 55DSL releases a feature length documentary titled 20 Years of 55DSL, containing music from The Bloody Beetroots. Produced with various types of recorded media — from DV and VHS tapes to polaroids, projector slides, DVDs and new interviews  — 20 Years of 55DSL is a vibrant narrative that serves as a memoir of the brand’s history in progressing from an exclusively action-sports brand to a full-fledge streetwear line. The dynamic film highlights 55DSL’s past collaborations with other brands, artists, athletes and the like, and features Creative Director Andrea Rosso, Joel Tudor, Alex FaKso and more. It’s a fitting tribute as it brings friends, contributors and a sprawling archive together to showcase just how the brand has transformed yet stayed true to its philosophy of cultivating creativity and embracing that lifestyle.
