Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS

Due to launch in just a few short months is the latest addition to Porsche‘s stable of 911s: the 911 Targa 4 GTS. Unveiled today at the Detroit Auto Show, the new vehicle provides a little open-air driving to those Porsche enthusiasts that don’t want a full convertible and offers a slew of performance upgrades along with all-wheel drive traction. Equipped with the GTS line’s 3.8-liter flat-six engine, the Targa boasts 424 horsepower along with 325 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of around 188 mph. While the car’s automatic seven-speed PDK can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, the seven-speed manual transmission will hit the same mark in about 4.5 seconds. Additional performance features include Porsche’s Sport Chrono package, Active Suspension Management, 20-inch wheels, and a sport exhaust.

It’s not all about performance, however, as this 911 has been blessed with a number of stylistic upgrades. A modified bumper — which features an extra opening to cool the middle radiator — is one of the more obvious changes while additional tweaks include Bi-Xenon headlights with smoky coverings, the inclusion of the 911 Turbo S’s 20-inch wheels, Sport Plus seats, and luxurious black Alcantara.

Expect the high-performance 911 Targa 4 GTS to be available from Porsche beginning this April for $132,800 USD.
