Fresh off a well-received Spring/Summer 2014 collection, PUMA recently resumed its partnership with BWGH on another strong capsule for Fall/Winter 2014. This time around, the Parisian label was inspired by the work of Ethan Cook — an artist known for his work in the abstract expressionist painting movement — and concocted a handful of sophisticated makeovers of classic PUMA runners. Included among them are the XS-698 and XS-85o, two silhouettes that channel Cook’s obsession with intense and pure colors. Featuring neutral tones and colorblocked designs in a combination of suede, mesh and bouclé-knit fabrics, both sneakers are finished with contrasting white midsoles, two lace sets and collaborative branding, resulting in stylishly restrained takes on two classics from the PUMA vaults.
