Photographer Captures the Unexpected Beauty of Laundry Spinning in Laundromat’s Dryers

Inspired by laundry spinning in the dryers of local laundromats, Chicago-based artist Yvette Meltzer created a series of photos that capture the convergence of color, light and form emerging through the windows of the dryers. The project appropriately titled “Revolution”, is a unique take on the ordinary, a way for Meltzer to share what she sees with the rest of us. Speaking about the project she said, “What has been most exciting for me has been capturing the abstract forms that have emerged on this journey. As Picasso said, ‘There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.’ I believe that is what this series does.”
